The safety of our visitors, communities, employees and their families is the number one priority of Viña Castellano and the Placer Wine Trail community during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Governor Newsom has recommended the closure of bars, pubs and winery tasting rooms in California to help curtail the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). However, this is regarding normal operations of serving tastings and wine by the glass. Any form of agricultural production and processing, including the cultivation of products for personal consumption or use through farming, ranching or livestock and fishing, as well as business activities that support production and processing essential agricultural supplies and services…..services such as cooling, storing, packaging and distribution of such products for wholesale and retail sale. Furthermore, Grocery stores, certified farmer’s markets and farm and produce stands are included in the list of essential businesses.
We are monitoring State actions, Federal Guidelines and guidance from the California Wine Institute, who is working closely with the Governor’s office to implement recommendations to reduce the exposure and spread of the disease by limiting visitor access to winery tasting rooms for purchase and pick up only, intensifying cleaning and sanitation procedures and following the guidance of the CDC and California Department of Health. Our operations as listed below were changed at 2:00pm on Thursday March 19th upon receiving the COVID – 19 DIRECTIVE from Placer County Health Officer.
